Elementary Assistant Principal

Spanish Bilingual Preferred But Not Required

Location: North Elementary School

Work Calendar: 192-day work year; school year plus two weeks

Position Purpose

Under the direction of the Building Principal, direct assigned programs and services; provide information and serve as a resource to others; supervise assigned staff; coordinate school activities and address issues and situations that arise on campus or with enrolled students.

Competencies Sought

• Strong knowledge base of the learning process, effective instruction, differentiation and assessment
• Experience with the implementation of MTSS
• Style of leadership that is collaborative, energetic and visible
• A "team player" who will be a positive addition to the administrative team serving the District
• Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, analyze solutions and implement resolutions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various constituencies
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Ability to analyze data and draw valid conclusions
• Expertise with the deep work of PLCs
• Experience using the Danielson Framework
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in School Administration.
• Illinois Professional Educator License with Administrative Endorsement
• Minimum 5 years successful teaching experience, preferably in more than one grade level or subject area.
• Success in leadership roles.
• Successful experience as an administrator preferred.
