    Position: Long-Term Substitute Front Office Administrative Assistant III

    Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30 minute unpaid lunch); 8 hours per day; Dec 2025-May 2026

    Salary: $24.42 per the 2023-2025 Administrative Assistants Contract

    Reports to: High School Principal

    Experience Required:
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum of one year of previous office experience
    • Work in a vibrant and diverse school community previously preferred
    • Strong education and experiential qualifications
    • Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to have and maintain positive and effective working relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate math skills in performing daily routines (i.e. percent, ratios, basic math, etc.)
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous, business-like manner with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize office tasks to support the school and fulfill job responsibilities
    • Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and necessary software

    Other Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
    • Ability to maintain professional composure at all times.
    • Serve as primary contact for people having business with the principal.
    • Proven ability to show initiative and function as a self-started.

    Work Environment:
    • Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administration parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
    • Front office position.
    • Occasional need to respond to emergency situations requiring staff, police, fire, and/or medical assistance.

    Responsibilities:
    • Support building and administrative needs involving
      • Attendance
      • Behaviors/Discipline
      • Parking
      • Testing/Assessments
    • Support and communicate with administrators and staff by providing information, circulating messages, screening as necessary and assisting in other ways.
    • Communicate effectively on the phone, takes messages, routes calls, and serves as the call screener when necessary for the principal.
    • Responsible for word processing and correspondence through knowledge of computer applications, e-mail, Google applications and Internet.
    • Submits job postings and staff employment forms for building staff open positions.
    • Assist in proofing items such as the student registration guide.
    • Attend meetings as designated by principal or associate principals.
    • Supervise and assist with routine office procedures such as faxing, copying, and printing as requested.
    • Lead some school projects and support other projects.
    • Teamwork based setting.
    • Assist in mail distribution and inter-school communications.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned or apparent.
