BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Speech Pathologist shall provide Speech Pathology services to a pediatric population in a school setting. The Speech Pathologist will identify students with communication disabilities; plan and implement appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student educational success and recommend treatment plans.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Speech Pathologist shall provide Speech Pathology services to a pediatric population in a school setting. The Speech Pathologist will identify students with communication disabilities; plan and implement appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student educational success and recommend treatment plans.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide therapy in multiple schools within Hammond
- Perform evaluations within the school setting and work as a member of a Multi-disciplinary Team to determine programming for students with special needs
- Write Individual Education Plans using Indiana IEP program
- Perform all duties as Teacher of Record for students whose only disability is speech/language
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure the success of students with communication disabilities in the school setting
- File Medicaid reports and to accurately report therapy services to Medicaid
- Maintain up-to-date service entry for electronic Medicaid billing
- Provide all services according to Article 7
- Interpret medical reports within the scope of the pathologist's licensure
- Maintain all files and reports appropriately per School City of Hammond policies
- If requested, will supervise a Speech Language Assistant or a CFY intern if qualified by ASHA
- Will participate in workshops, in services and other meetings as requested
- Other duties as requested by Director of special Education
- Minimum of Master's Degree
- Valid Speech Pathologist license from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE)
- Valid Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA)
- Hold Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be ASHA eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year
- Experience with writing Individual Education Plans
- Proficient computer skills
