What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech and Language Therapist Keene Middle School 2026-2027 position at School Administrative Unit No. 29?
Advocate for Communication. Empower Student Voices.
Keene Middle School is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist to join our vibrant, high-energy team. In this role, you will help students navigate the critical transition from foundational language to the complex academic and social communication skills required for young adulthood. Your caseload will cover a diverse range of needs, from mild speech/language challenges to severe communication barriers, with a heavy focus on bridging the gap between individualized goals and real-world independence. Key areas of intervention include strengthening reading comprehension, mastering figurative language, and coaching students on the executive functioning skills necessary for organization and self-regulation.
As a vital member of the KMS community, you will provide specialized support within our two Life Skills classrooms and our dedicated program for students with high-functioning autism. There are also students who are in the general education setting most of the day who require group services for more mild impairments. You will lead efforts in social communication (pragmatics) and perspective-taking while empowering students to develop the self-advocacy skills needed to thrive independently. We are looking for a CCC-SLP who possesses a "team-first" mentality and a genuine sense of humor to match our fun, fast-paced school culture. If you are passionate about helping middle schoolers find their voice and foster long-term growth, KMS is the place for you.
