What are the responsibilities and job description for the LNA Classroom Assistant(s)- Keene High School position at School Administrative Unit No. 29?
Bridge Care & Learning. Empower Students.
Are you a healthcare professional looking to apply your clinical skills in a more consistent and rewarding environment? Keene High School is seeking Classroom Assistants with LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) duties to support our students' health and academic success. This is a unique opportunity to merge your caregiving expertise with the world of education, providing the vital support that allows students with medical or physical needs to thrive alongside their peers.
Why Choose School-Based Care Over Traditional LNA Settings?
- A Schedule for Living: No more night shifts, double weekends, or holiday rotations. You work the school-year calendar with your evenings, weekends, school vacations and summers free.
- Building Deep Connections: Unlike the high turnover of clinical settings, you work with the same students daily, allowing you to witness their long-term growth and success.
- Proactive Wellness: Shift your focus from "sick care" to "success care" by helping students manage their health so they can focus on learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrated Care: Providing personal care and medical support (within LNA scope) for students with physical or developmental disabilities to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Instructional Support: Assisting teachers in modifying lessons and providing 1-on-1 academic interventions to improve student achievement.
- Student Empowerment: Promoting independence by helping students navigate the school environment and social interactions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active New Hampshire LNA license is highly preferred for these specialized positions.
Education: Associate's degree, two years of college, or equivalent experience preferred.
