General Purpose:
This position is responsible for safely assisting students in crossing streets in designated school zones as well as directing and controlling motor vehicle traffic in and out of school campuses.

Principal or Designee

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
- Maintain a safe environment for students walking to and from school.
- Ensure that students and motorists follow safety laws so that students are provided with a safe environment to prevent injuries.
- Stop vehicles to allow students to cross at specific locations.
- Give understandable signals and direction to regulate the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic and use judgment in those duties to avoid unnecessary traffic tie-ups and to safeguard the students.
