Assistant Facilities Director (Nights)Location: SAU 41 Hollis BrooklineDepartment: Facilities / MaintenanceReports To: Facilities DirectorPosition SummaryThe Assistant Facilities Director supports the overall management, maintenance, and operation of school facilities. This role assists in ensuring buildings, grounds, and systems are safe, functional, and compliant with all regulations. The position works closely with the Facilities Director to oversee staff, vendors, budgets, and capital projects. Position is scheduled 2pm - 10:30pm.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing daily facilities operations, including maintenance and custodial servicesSupervise and support facilities staff, contractors, and vendorsHelp develop and implement preventive maintenance programsEnsure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standardsSupport budgeting, cost control, and procurement of supplies and servicesCoordinate repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projectsRespond to facility-related emergencies and after-hours issues as neededMaintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for inspections and work ordersAssist in space planning and facility optimization effortsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred35 years of experience in facilities management or building operationsStrong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)Experience supervising staff and managing vendorsFamiliarity with safety regulations and compliance standardsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
