What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector position at Schonbek / WAC (Wangs Alliance Corp)?
W Schonbek, part of the WAC Group, is hiring a full-time Quality Inspector in Plattsburgh, NY. This role reports directly to the Quality Supervisor. The Quality Inspector is responsible to inspect raw and finished parts and fixtures; troubleshoot and find root cause to returned goods; and to switch, remove or add components to defective materials (fixtures).
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections of incoming material and parts, first article inspections, in-process manufacturing audits, and finished good inspections.
- Ability to accurately document findings by utilizing technical writing skills.
- Assist in and/or lead root cause investigations using industry standard processes and methods.
- Adhere to Standard Work Instructions and Part/Product Quality References and Standards.
- Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments such as multimeters, calipers, height gages, gage blocks, gage pins, thickness gages, and other tools/jigs.
- Ability to accurately read blueprints, technical drawings, electrical/electronic wiring instructions, and identify critical component or material features (geometry, markings, etc).
- Ability to assemble and disassemble finished product.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic AC/DC circuits.
- Accurately prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with specific information in regards to the deviation from specifications/standards.
- Ability to be certified and operate a stand up and sit down forklift.
- Ensures a clean and organized workspace.
- Performance expectations to be met.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
- Structured systematic work skills and habits.
- Experience with precision measurement tools.
- Effective interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
- Established ability to work collaboratively across all levels and functions of an organization to coordinate solutions.
- Technical communication skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail.
- Technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to use computer equipment Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel).
- Forklift Certification a plus.
