What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Program Operations (DPO) position at Scholar Spark?
Join Us as: the architect and overseer of the Scholar Spark learning journey
At Scholar Spark, we believe that transformative education is best achieved through mentored exploration. We’re seeking a Director of Program Operations (DPO) who is both a ‘big-picture’ thinker and highly detail-oriented. In addition to helping design and improve the Scholar Spark program, the DPO is responsible for ensuring that every step of our Scholars’ experience, from application to admission to graduation, runs seamlessly and efficiently.
Your Core Mission:
· Architect the Scholar’s Journey: Design and optimize the entire experience of enrolled Scholars, ensuring that every touchpoint—from application to mentor matching to research writing and defense—is maximally effective and efficient.
· Uphold Program Quality and Standards: Establish and enforce program standards, set milestones for mentors and enrolled Scholars—working closely with Scholar Spark’s academic team to ensure that Scholars progress confidently and successfully through the program.
· Leverage Technology for Impact: Evaluate, select, and manage Scholar Spark’s core operational tools (e.g., CRM, LMS). Use technology to efficiently manage program logistics.
· Foster Collaborative Excellence: Promote a mutually supportive company culture in which Scholar Spark’s academic and admissions teams together focus on providing outstanding service and ensuring the success of our Scholars.
We Hope You Are:
· Experienced in managing complex, high-touch operations—ideally in education (online or brick-and-mortar), academic enrichment, or similar service roles.
· Someone with, at minimum, a general understanding of how academic research ‘works’.
· Someone with strong views about what constitutes exceptional learning experiences and how to provide them.
· A strategic thinker who is equally adept at big-picture thinking and at developing and executing the plans required to translate visions into reality
· Someone skilled in assessing programs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and executing them.
· Someone who is genuinely aligned with Scholar Spark’s educational vision and mission.
