General Handyman

Hello, Thanks for taking a look at Schoen Custom Homes. We are looking for a talented individual that can work with little supervision and is extremely motivated. This is not a punch the clock type job. We generally work from 8:00 to 4:00 M-F. We all have families and lives outside of work, and are flexible with schedules.

We have been in the commercial and residential building business since 2004. Since January of 2021 we focused on building high-end custom homes. We serve clients in the San Antonio, New Braunfels, Garden Ridge, Canyon Lake, Lake LBJ and the Surrounding Texas Hill country. We currently have two homes in development now.

Compensation will be based on experience and can be a full or part-time position. It is all based on what you can offer! We provide a vehicle or mileage reimbursement from our office to each site.

Job Duties

Looking for skilled handyman tradesmen - Carpentry, doors, hardware, general handyman, mill work, painting, tile work, Sheetrock, etc.

Specific abilities:

• Trim carpentry
• Cabinet installation

• Tile - bathrooms - backsplashes
• Plumbing fixture Installation
• Basic electrical knowledge (example Install light fixture / fan)
• Ability to weld up to 1/4 inch steel. Not looking for a professional welder but may have some projects!

• Painting interior and exterior
• Solar panel Install (brackets and lock down panels, electrician will wire)

• Ability to drive and back up 16 ft trailers

• New appliance installation - set up and assembly
• House prep - setting up furniture

• Site Clean up (interior and exterior)

• Pressure washing
• Light landscaping / ability to direct landscape crews
• General Labor
• Movement of company vehicles to/from maintenance facility

• Driving materials to sites, pick up from stores ect.

• Ability to operate a skid steer / back-ho (not required but desirable)

Must have basic tools as per handyman scope, (Drills, Hammer, Drivers, etc...) Any special tools, we will purchase or provide and maintain ownership. Job scope requires excellent communication and organization skills while maintaining a professional appearance in the field. Must be able to pass drug screen and background check, with a clean driving record.

• Military affiliation - Reservist/Veteran/first responder a plus! Ability to speak Spanish not required, but please let us know.

• Any Licensees Plumbing/Electrical/HVAC is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
