Commercial Construction Plumbing Superintendent

About The Role

As a Plumbing Supervisor, you’ll oversee field crews, coordinate with other trades, maintain quality and safety standards, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. This position is ideal for a skilled plumber who’s ready to grow into a leadership position and make a real impact on project performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Crew Management

• Supervise and mentor plumbing crews to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
• Assign daily tasks, provide on-the-job training, and monitor crew performance.
• Ensure a safe environment for all employees and subcontractors.
  
  

Project Oversight

• Oversee all plumbing phases of commercial new-construction projects.
• Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, and general contractors to keep timelines aligned.
• Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to direct installations.
• Track project schedules, monitor progress, and keep projects on budget.
  
  

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all work meets local building codes, OSHA requirements, and company standards.
• Conduct routine jobsite inspections to verify workmanship and project specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
  
  

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate clearly with the operations manager, project managers, and superintendents.
• Identify and document change orders and submit them promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of labor, materials, daily activities, and jobsite progress.
• Assist with system testing to confirm proper installation and functionality.
  
  

Material & Inventory Management

• Track material usage and maintain accurate inventory.
• Prepare material lists and submit purchase needs for upcoming phases.
  
  

Requirements

Experience

• 5 years of professional plumbing experience in commercial new construction, or 2 years as a plumbing superintendent.
  
  

Licenses & Certifications

• Ohio Master Plumbing License preferred (not required).
• OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  
  

Skills

• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and installation practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret codes and technical documents.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and crew-management abilities.
• Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
