For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $80,640 - $120,960 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.  

 

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Job Description

Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst – Schneider Electric Federal

Department: Finance

Reports To: Director of Finance

Location: Columbia, MD

Position Summary

Schneider Electric Federal is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support its growth ambitions. This role is responsible for partnering with the commercial team to produce meaningful Orders and Revenue forecasts as well managing the fixed cost profile of the group. The ideal candidate will have experience in government contracting, a strong understanding (or willingness to learn) of FAR/DFARS compliance, and the ability to work cross-functionally to influence strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Manage the fixed cost profile of the business
  • Monitor and interpret contract performance metrics including actual vs. planned revenue, cost, and margin.
  • Partner with Program Management, Contracts, and Operations teams to align financial reporting with contractual milestones and funding profiles.
  • Analyze cost structures and recommend improvements to maximize profitability and cost recovery.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to leadership, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of key financial dashboards, KPIs, and ad hoc reports.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, with at least 3 years supporting government contracts in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of (or willingness to learn) the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and government cost principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP S4 Hana).
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment (onsite 3 days/week, flexible remote work).
  • Occasional travel (<10%) to support business initiatives
