What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at Schneider Electric?
The Scrum Master is a key leadership position who drives agile rituals on the team. They will facilitate key events and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master will identify, escalate, and help find resolutions to squad obstacles. They will ensure squad transparency through sharing relevant metrics and appropriate escalations. The Scrum Master will create a conducive and collaborative environment through effective leadership.
What will you do?
- Learn the application domain to effectively remove roadblocks and facilitate technical requirements discussions.
- Is Team Lead and accountable for team’s delivery of User Stories committed to during planning.
- Accountable for Mentoring/Coaching/Training Team in Agile Mindset and practices with a goal of continuous improvement, the Agile expert on team. Mentors/Coaches “up”, engaging with Leadership and Business in promoting Agile Values & Principles.
- Facilitates all Agile Ceremonies with a focus on ensuring the ceremony achieves its purpose and stays within its timebox.
- Lead blameless retros and consider retro session outcomes in the iterative sprint definition
- Guide the quad to setup and re-prioritize realistic but ambitious enough sprint objectives, squad velocity.
- Assists Team in removing identified impediments and/or escalates to the proper authority for removal.
- Protects the team from distractions.
- Ensure Squad's progress/performance metrics are in place and well understood. Gather metrics to provide as part of status reports. These include sprint and release progress as well as production stability.
- Escalate to the scrum of scrum master and leadership team as key guardrails are met.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of product or project development experience, or 2 years of project development or testing experience on an Agile Team or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Knowledge of an agile framework or method (i.e. Scrum, Kanban), an in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles would be an advantage.
- Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery Squads.
