This position will oversee a multi-disciplined engineering team that provides engineered to order solutions for customer projects for Low Voltage Switchgear and Low Voltage Switchboard equipment at the Columbia, South Carolina Schneider Electric manufacturing facility. This role will work closely with Schneider Electric’s global supply chain, middle office team, and commercial teams to provide world class solutions and customer service.
The identified candidate will be a critical member of a cross-functional team that provides general management and direction to an engineering organization and ensures all performance metrics are achieved. This leader will also be the primary person responsible to support execution of the End to End transformation initiatives in the Columbia, South Carolina location.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for people management including goal setting, performance management, competency development, recognition, engagement, and well-being for three supervisors and approximately 50 project engineers.
- Organize the engineering activity according to the load, project complexity, and required skillset.
- Manage the load/capacity of the department and develop versatility within the team.
- Guide the engineering team through the visual Short Interval Management process to drive KPIs and ensure overall performance.
- Ensure technical quality and service levels are maintained throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Define training according to skill matrix and competencies targets.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements are maintained within our product definition and design intent.
- Continuous improvement of the design activity in terms of technical knowledge, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality is delivered for both our internal and external customers.
- Guide change activity to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction with successful change management.
- Serves as the owner of the Schneider Performance System Cards 14A & 14B for their engineering location and assists other lean manufacturing priorities as necessary.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor degree in engineering (required).
- Must have 8 years of engineering experience
- Must have 5 years of demonstrated people management experience and leadership skills
- Desire upward mobility and to grow your career within Schneider Electric.
- Fast learner and willing to travel periodically for training opportunities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers (internal and external), employees, and management.
- Flexible and have the proven ability to prioritize tasks, work unassisted, and meet deadlines.
- Have strong mediation, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
