Sandwich Maker

Schneider Deli is a modern Jewish deli rooted in tradition, focused on house-made food, consistency, and hospitality. Our River North location is a fast-paced, high-volume shop where execution, teamwork, and attention to detail matter.

The Sandwich Maker is responsible for preparing and assembling sandwiches and deli items to Schneider Deli standards during high-volume service. This role requires speed, precision, cleanliness, and pride in craftsmanship. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on the line, communicating clearly, and maintaining quality under pressure.

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches accurately and efficiently to spec

• Slice, portion, and handle meats and cheeses properly

• Maintain speed and consistency during peak service periods

• Communicate clearly with cashiers, expediters, and kitchen staff

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards

• Keep sandwich station clean, stocked, and organized throughout service

• Assist with prep work before service and breakdown after service

• Follow opening and closing checklists as assigned

• Uphold Schneider Deli’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and teamwork

• Prior sandwich making, deli, or line cook experience preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Strong attention to detail and consistency

• Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work with kitchen equipment (slicers, grills, etc.)

• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

• Flexible availability including mornings, weekends, and holidays

• Shifts vary based on business needs
