Schneck Medical Center, a mission-driven rural healthcare provider, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Ambulatory Physician Practices to lead, expand, and optimize our outpatient physician practice clinical services. This executive will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, provider relations, and financial health of ambulatory and physician practice operations.
The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative leadership style, strong business acumen, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare.
Required:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field.
- Progressive leadership experience in ambulatory care, physician practice management, or a related healthcare setting.
- Proven record of accomplishment in physician relations, operational excellence, and strategic planning.
Preferred:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with a business degree (MBA/MHA).
- Experience working in a rural or community hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for ambulatory care aligned with the hospital’s mission and long-term goals.
- Identify opportunities for growth, partnerships, and service line expansion.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of all physician practices and outpatient clinics, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Drive operational efficiencies, access improvements, and workflow optimization.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for ambulatory services; monitor financial performance and take corrective actions as needed.
- Optimize revenue cycle processes and payer contracting in coordination with finance and billing teams.
- Provider Relations & Performance:
- Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff.
- Establish performance benchmarks and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and productivity goals.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Improvement:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and accreditation standards.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction strategies.
- Community Engagement:
- Represent the hospital and physician practices in the community, fostering relationships with stakeholders and promoting access to care.
- Understand and address the unique needs of rural populations and underserved communities.
