Position Summary:

The Retail Store Manager leads store operations, drives sales performance, and develops a high-performing team. This role is ideal for someone who combines business expertise with a genuine passion for music and customer service. You’ll represent Schmitt Music’s core values: Serve the customer. Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Oversee all store operations to achieve sales, profit, and performance goals

· Manage inventory, expenses, and overall financial health of the store

· Exceed Sales Plan Contribution targets

· Recruit, train, and mentor a motivated sales team

· Ensure exceptional customer experiences in every interaction

· Act as an educational representative for schools and community accounts

· Participate in limited regional travel

· Foster a positive, team-focused store culture

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in music business or related field
• 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of musical instruments, especially band & orchestra
• Proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
• Ability to work retail hours, including evenings and weekends
• Experience supervising Repair Technicians, Independent Educators, or Educational Representatives (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a background check
• Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Standing, walking, and occasional lifting of 20–30 lbs
• Use of ladders for stocking and merchandise movement
• ·Combination of retail and office-type working environments
