We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader to oversee and coordinate outdoor groundskeeping projects. Duties
- Lead and supervise a crew responsible for lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and groundskeeping activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Coordinate hardscaping construction projects such as patio installation, retaining walls, walkways, and other hardscape features with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage irrigation systems including installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance to promote healthy plant growth and water efficiency.
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and groundcover to inform proper care techniques and landscape design adjustments.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools safely and effectively.
- Oversee company vehicle operation for transportation of crew members and equipment to job sites while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure all outdoor work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations; conduct regular safety briefings for team members.
- Assist with the training of crew members on landscaping techniques, equipment use, plant identification, irrigation management, and hardscape construction.
- Maintain detailed records of project progress, equipment maintenance schedules, inventory levels of supplies and materials.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by providing leadership in daily tasks while promoting professional growth among crew members.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening or groundskeeping with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
- Demonstrated supervising or team management experience in outdoor or landscaping settings.
- Knowledge of hardscaping construction projects including patios, walkways, retaining walls and other features.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and maintenance; ability to troubleshoot irrigation issues effectively.
- Ability to identify plants accurately and apply appropriate horticultural practices for healthy growth.
- Experience operating landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and related tools safely.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crew schedules, assign tasks efficiently and motivate team members.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles; clean driving record preferred.
- Outdoor work experience in various weather conditions; physically capable of lifting heavy materials and performing manual labor as needed.
- Construction experience or background in hardscape installation is a plus; knowledge of tree care is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving and safety compliance.
