Duties
- Assist customers with selecting meat products, providing expert recommendations and upselling where appropriate to maximize sales
- Prepare meat cuts according to store standards, utilizing proper food handling techniques and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including meat cases, counters, and tools, adhering to food safety regulations
- Restock and organize meat displays for optimal presentation and freshness while monitoring product expiration dates
- Support food preparation tasks like trimming, packaging, and labeling meat products in accordance with health standardsExperience
- Previous experience in food service or retail environments, especially within grocery stores or quick service & fast food restaurants
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper meat handling techniques is essential
- Culinary experience or background in the food industry will be advantageous for understanding product preparation
- Strong time management skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks during busy periods
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and upsell products confidently
