What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Member - Service/Cashier position at Schmidt's Sausage Shop?
At Schmidt’s Sausage Shop, we are a fourth generation family-owned business and have been making our own products since 1961. We make a variety of cold smoked sausages, dried products, bacon, and other Eastern European ethnic foods. Our Shop is both a retail store and USDA processing facility, and we have a small commercial kitchen as well.
*Full-time and part-time shifts available*
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers
- Answer customer questions and take product orders by phone and in-person
- Maintain all food safety standards
- Ensure the show case coolers are stocked and organized
- Operate a cash register, handle cash and process credit card transactions
- Keep a clean work space and assist with cleaning when needed
- Work on tasks while keeping attention on customers
- Must be able to perform manual tasks and possible heavy lifting
Who we are looking for:
- Prior retail/customer service experience preferred but not required
- Food knowledge/food service experience preferred but not required
- Ability to multitask
- Willingness to learn and interest in learning about our products
- Works well with others
