Duties
- Lay retaining wall blocks with accuracy, ensuring proper alignment and stability according to project specifications
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute wall designs correctly
- Prepare foundations by leveling surfaces, installing rebar reinforcement, and applying mortar as needed
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to cut, shape, and install blocks efficiently
- Build masonry scaffolding to access high or difficult areas securely during installation
- Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members
- Collaborate with project managers, masons, and other trades to ensure timely project completion
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete masonry work, stone masonry, or related construction fields with a focus on retaining walls or hardscape projects
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete forming, plastering, drywall installation, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, roofing, framing carpentry, metal stud framing, welding, tile laying, and restoration work
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and building material installation techniques
- Ability to operate hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers; power tools including saws and drills; heavy equipment as required
- Experience with mortar work, concrete finishing techniques, and schematics interpretation
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites and masonry operations
- Construction site experience with renovation projects preferred
- Strong physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions
