What are the responsibilities and job description for the Survey Laborer position at Schlouch Incorporated?
Schlouch Incorporated has been Eastern PA’s leading site/civil contractors since 1983 and is still growing! We are looking to add a Survey Laborer to our team who wants to learn the surveying trade from the ground up. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in breaking ground into the world of survey and gaining real, hands-on field experience.
Key Responsibilities of a Survey Laborer:
- Assist survey crews with layout, staking, and grade verification
- Set and maintain survey stakes, hubs, and markers
- Carry and set up survey equipment (levels, rods, tripods, GPS units)
- Clear brush and obstacles to establish survey lines and points
- Work closely with surveyors, foremen, and equipment operators
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Perform general labor duties as needed on active job sites
Qualifications for a Survey Laborer:
- Previous construction or survey experience preferred, but not required
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor (lifting, walking uneven terrain, kneeling, etc.)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Salary / Hourly Wage: starting at $23.00 / hr based on experience.
