Service Engineer – Buffalo Grove, IL
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, support, and repair services for a range of equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will provide technical support for Schleuniger and Komax products, addressing customer needs for customizations, troubleshooting (including electronic, mechanical, and software issues), installations, and ongoing service. Additionally, you will offer training to clients to enhance their experience, ultimately resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, working in the office at our Buffalo Grove, IL, location.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides technical guidance to customers, employees, and company representatives for troubleshooting, applications, and repair.
- Meet the customer needs by coordinating and performing installs, machine evaluations, phone/email guidance, preventive maintenance, and field service as required.
- Communicate within the group to properly support equipment.
- Travel as necessary (35-40%).
- Ensure that installs, preventive maintenance, and field service trips are scheduled and executed as required.
- Stay apprised of technical issues/changes and discuss appropriate training.
- Monitor support queue and answer support cases in Salesforce.
- Conduct machine maintenance training and demonstrations for customers, sales reps, and new employees, including attending trade shows as requested.
- Input all interactions and information into the CRM
- Assists inside sales with parts identification.
What you bring to the table:
- A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant Field Service experience is preferred.
- Must have electrical and mechanical experience, PC experience with a knowledge of Windows, Pneumatics, PLC, Schematics, and strong electro-mechanical aptitude.
- Must have excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and written and oral communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Knowledge of crimping technology and theory, applicators, and adjustments, as well as experience with automatic crimping machines of any brand, is a plus.
- Ability to qualify for, use, and maintain a corporate or personal credit card for business expenses.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport required.
- Ability to hear, see, and talk. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. alone and 100 lbs. with assistance. Prolonged sitting or standing may be required.
- Sometimes may work beyond the typically scheduled hours.
Compensation: $25-40/hour, based on industry experience, plus bonus opportunity.
