Position Summary: The Stockroom Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations of the stockroom and shipping/receiving areas with a strong emphasis on SAP-driven inventory accuracy, material movement, and transaction integrity. This role serves as the department’s SAP resource, ensuring proper system usage, resolving transactional issues, and supporting process optimization. The Stockroom Supervisor works cross-functionally to maintain smooth material flow, support production, and uphold a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary SAP point of contact within the stockroom and shipping/receiving functions, providing guidance and support on all SAP-related tasks.
• Ensure accurate and timely SAP postings using the key transactions and production order confirmations.
• Monitor SAP data to track inventory accuracy, material movement trends, and operational performance.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and correct SAP transactional errors by collaborating with IT/SAP support teams to resolve system or data issues.
• Develop and update SOPs and work instructions related to SAP processes and train team members on proper system usage and best practices.
• Supervise stockroom, shipping, and receiving personnel to ensure timely and accurate processing of all materials.
• Oversee daily inventory activities including material issues, kit creation, returns, and adjustments.
• Evaluates employee job performances and conducts performance appraisals.
• Reviews and approves weekly time and attendance records for shop staff.
• Coordinate with engineering and production to ensure BOM changes, component updates, and stock transfers are properly executed and documented in SAP.
• Work with purchasing to ensure accurate receiving processes, address receipt discrepancies, and support timely storage of incoming materials.
• Lead and schedule daily cycle counts and support year-end physical inventory, using SAP to track results, reconcile differences, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure proper part placement, labeling, and material flow.
• Manage non-inventory consumables, balancing availability with avoidance of overstock.
• Identify and eliminate obsolete or non-usable inventory in alignment with SAP master data and disposition process.
• Assist in onboarding and training new personnel, with emphasis on SAP transactions, inventory processes, and material flow standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging SAP data to identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized stockroom and shipping/receiving area.
• Promote and ensure adherence to workplace safety practices and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
• 3 years of SAP experience as a key user required.
• Prior experience in stockroom, warehouse, or inventory operations.
• Experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Strong understanding of SAP material movements, inventory control processes, and transactional accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
• Ability to list and/or move heavy items (up to 40 lbs).
• Understanding of quality systems, continuous improvement, and ISO 9001.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, informed decisions.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
