Reports to: President Electro-Miniatures Corp and indirectly to the Schleifring Global VP Operations
Summary:
The Operations Manager will provide leadership, direction, to the organization’s operations team. This person will ensure efficient output, revenue attainability, and support structured growth for long term strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, including machining, painting, quality control, customer service, and general assembly.
- Implement production planning, , scheduling, and budget planning processes, including cost and capital expenditures (ROI justification). Analyze costs, variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Review and optimize current manufacturing processes, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, and future demand.
- Coordinate with other business units to set up centers of excellence to ensure total revenue targets are met while maximizing revenue.
- Collaborate with and support internal departments (Finance, Sales, Supply Chain) within a matrix structure.
- Ensure compliance with export control and adherence to ITAR and EAR standards, as well as EHS/OSHA regulations.
- Lead the product realization process for prototyping and small serial production.
- Develop and execute annual plans in coordination with senior management, considering program expansion, volume increases, and future business needs.
- Facilitate technology transfer between Europe and the U.S. sites for production processes.
- Build and maintain a well-run organization, fostering a friendly and fast-paced work environment.
- Promote teamwork and success through continuing education, structured communication, and the implementation of new technology.
- Implement global Schleifring standards in operations for HSE, production system, KPIs
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience as a Manufacturing or Production Manager in a customized engineering and manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in manufacturing electro-mechanical components.
- Excellent communication, public presentation and meeting management skills.
- Practical experience using quality management systems and processes (ISO 9001). Experience in process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
- Knowledge of cost management/control, planning, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of quality improvement processes, certification, and auditing of manufacturing processes, CIP, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Skilled in quality assurance tools, with practical experience in FMEA, Failure Analysis Methods (failure tree analysis, 8D reports, and other methodologies).
- Additional experience in electrical engineering and customer-oriented design of components and value-added subassemblies for low-volume/high mix production.
- Experience in unionized plant operations.
- Preferred 3 years of SAP experience; a plus for SAP implementation experience

Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
