Position Summary: The Junior Manufacturing Engineer supports the manufacturing team by assisting in the design, implementation, and improvement of production processes. The role focuses on optimizing workflows, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining equipment functionality. The Junior Manufacturing Engineer will work alongside senior engineers to analyze production data, assist with the development of work instructions, and support efforts to enhance product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in Process Evaluation: Help evaluate current manufacturing process and suggest improvements in quality control, efficiency, and safety.
- Data Analysis: Support in the analysis of production schedules, methods, and data, providing reports and insights to management to improve decision-making.
- Compliance Support: Ensure that manufacturing processes are aligned with industry standards and government regulations, under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Cost Analysis Assistance: Assist in reviewing production costs, labor material usage, and future production requirements to help optimize manufacturing budgets.
- Workflow and Layout Assistance: Support in the planning of factory layouts, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve operational efficiency
- Production Time Estimates: Help estimate production times, staffing needs, and lead times, and enter relevant data into production management system (E2).
- Equipment Maintenance Coordination: Assist in coordinating the maintenance and repaid of equipment, ensuring that all procedures and instructions are followed to maintain smooth production:
- Facility Layout and Safety: Contribute to workflow analysis and layout changes to enhance safety, productivity, and quality.
- Work Instruction Development: Asist in the creation and refinement of work instructions to ensure that production processes are clear and efficient.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Problem-solving ability: Ability to assist in identifying issues and recommend solutions to improve processes.
- Basic IT skills: Familiarity with production management software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Mechanical knowledge: Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Team player: Able to work collaboratively within a team environment, learning from senior engineers while contributing to project goals
- Attention to detail: Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements with a keen eye for detail.
- Education: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Salary : $50,000 - $85,000
