Reports to: Production Team Leader
Summary:
Assembly of slip rings with flexibility to transfer to assembly of other designs as required. Under guidance from the Assembly supervisor, assemble complete Slip Rings in line with the production schedule. Insure quality requirements are met to guarantee adherence to technical specification and product reliability. Identification of opportunities for continuous improvement in assembly processes and provides feedback to design and process engineering. Liaison with supervisor and Production planning to provide input to the design phase.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of Slip Rings: Utilize materials and kits supplied and drawings and specifications to assemble slip rings according to the schedule set by the production supervisor and management. Carry out operator inspection to insure compliance to specifications and assist the improvement in 1st pass yield rates.
- Re-Work: Examine units in production to identify errors and non-conformity with specifications - Carry out repairs and corrections as necessary
- Teamwork: Communication with other team members to facilitate effective cooperation and work flow. Cooperation to complete in-process quality checks and technical support.
- Health and Safety: Compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and standard operating procedures to insure a safe working environment
- Working Environment: This is a manual assembly role working at a fixed desk or bench either sitting or standing. The work requires manual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to use hand tools for soldering and crimping. The environment has minimal ambient noise.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Understanding of slip ring technology and applications
- Experience of working in a high technology electrical / engineering assembly environment
- Manual dexterity and technical skills for soldering, crimping, plastics mixing and molding and other assembly skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions
- Approachable personality with an open and communicative style for effective cooperation within the team
- Sense of organization and decision making capability for prioritising tasks
- Basic computer skills
- IPC 610 certification preferred (valid certificate)
- J STD 001 certified (valid certificate)
