Mechanical Engineer Intern - Summer 2026
Your Main Responsibilities
Elevator Products Corporation is looking for a Summer 2025 Mechanical Engineer Intern to work under the direction of the Sr. Mechanical Product Engineer to support our product development and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems and components for elevator industry
- Help analyze and solve complex product design, application, manufacturing, installation and service problems
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs with electrical and software components
- Support prototyping, testing, and documentation activities, including troubleshooting and performance evaluation
- Help prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications and testing reports
- Support competitive analysis activities of product designs and report findings
- Assist in Design, modifications, and/or application of components and systems using engineering methods and techniques to meet specified technical objectives on time
- Support design for manufacturability activities and comprehend manufacturing limitations
- Comprehend architectural and structural building drawings
- Review customer submittals (and mark ups) and discuss changes with appropriate cross-functional teams
- Organize, track and keep records of drawing and documents in archive
Requirements:
- Currently Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ProE, CATIA, Inventor)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn new concepts and skills
- Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and practices
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Throughout your internship, we provide continuous feedback to assist in the intern’s development
