Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Worker role based in Kalida, OH. The Concrete Worker will help prepare job sites, set up and dismantle forms, and assist with grading and base preparation for concrete placement. Daily tasks include placing, spreading, and finishing concrete for flatwork, driveways, sidewalks, foundations, and other structural elements according to specifications. The role involves working with ready-mix deliveries, operating or assisting with light and heavy equipment as directed, and performing basic carpentry related to formwork and supports. The Concrete Worker will also help with site cleanup, tool and equipment maintenance, and adherence to all safety procedures and company quality standards.
Qualifications
- Experience with formwork and basic carpentry skills for building, setting, and stripping concrete forms.
- Hands-on experience with flatwork, including placing, screeding, and finishing slabs, sidewalks, and pads.
- Familiarity with ready-mix concrete, including handling deliveries, placement techniques, and curing practices.
- Ability to safely work around or operate heavy equipment used in excavation and concrete construction (training provided as needed).
- Understanding of construction site safety practices and commitment to working safely in all weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to Kalida, OH job sites and willingness to work varying hours as project needs require.
- Previous concrete or general construction experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
