Job Summary
A Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing new sales while growing and maintaining customer relationships. This position will develop relationships, anticipate customer needs, trouble shoot problems, and close sales. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s purpose and demonstrate our core values.
As a Business Development Manager at Schill Grounds Management, you must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job:
- Research and identify potential clients for our landscaping and snow removal services.
- Call on prospective clients, seek out, and build relationships with key decision-makers in these organizations.
- Work with other Schill team members to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs and concerns.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to result in a positive outcome.
- Anticipate customer needs and make suggestions to enhance current or future locations.
- Attend industry functions and stay abreast of market trends.
- Be prepared to educate potential clients on current landscaping trends and practices.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record to meet fleet insurance standards
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
3-5 years of business-to-business sales experience
Strong computer skills in the Microsoft Suite and CRM systems
WORK CONDITIONS
Employees in this position should expect frequent local travel and must be able to offer flexibility with work hours outside of regular business hours to meet client needs. This position may require working from various locations or from home, as needed.
