Responsible for performing a wide range of tasks on construction projects which requires worker to have an extensive experience level and ability to perform many different tasks during all stages of construction.
Job Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare construction sites
- Load, unload, and distribute building materials
- Assist other workers, such as carpenters and finishers, as directed
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures
- Assist in the building and positioning of concrete forms
- Operate a variety of tools and small power equipment
- Ensure completed work assignments meet quality standards and within project schedule
- Clean up jobsite rubble and debris
- Ensure onsite tools and materials are maintained in a proper fashion
- Maintain, organize and clean job site at all times
- Other duties as assigned by President and Superintendent
- Obey the Scherer Construction/OSHA safety standards at all times
- Knowledge of various types of construction practices
- Sound knowledge of proper use of tools, equipment, machines, and materials of the trade
- Ability to follow directions and pre-established guidelines
- Mathematical skills necessary to take and compute measurements
- Ability to get along with others and work in teams
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated
- Maintain a positive attitude
- 1 - 2 years work experience in construction or related field
