We are hiring a Mowing and Landscape Maintenance Manager to lead our mowing and landscape maintenance divisions in Lawrence. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee initial and ongoing training of crew supervisors and crew members
- Train crew supervisors on how to lead and develop crew members; ensure crew supervisors understand their responsibilities in leading crews.
- Monitor crew efficiency and quality of work; perform quality checks at residential and commercial properties.
- Communicate daily with crew supervisors on job progress, concerns, and customer feedback
- Create customer job schedules
- Communicate with customers to answer questions and resolve complaints and concerns.
- Perform managerial duties such as approving expenses, payroll, leave requests, etc. promptly and correctly.
- Measure division, crew, and co-worker production using key company production and financial metrics; ensure production goals are met.
- Perform regular performance reviews of mowing and maintenance divisions co-workers.
- Create mowing and maintenance schedules; make adjustments as necessary.
- Manage inventory of all plants, products, tools, and equipment used by the maintenance division.
- Communicate daily with crew supervisors on job progress, concerns, and customer feedback.
- Work with crew supervisors to ensure equipment is kept in proper working condition. Coordinate maintenance and repairs of equipment, and work with supervisor to determine purchasing needs.
- Understand and effectively use all company software and be able to train supervisors and crew members on software as needed.
- Attend all required production meetings, safety meetings, trainings, performance reviews/evaluations, and other mandatory meetings.
- Additional off-season duties as assigned by supervisor, including snow removal.
- Management of snow events as needed.
Position requirements include:
- Excellent daily attendance and punctual arrival
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in mowing, lawn care, or landscaping
- Valid driver’s license without any major infractions in past 3-5 years
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of proper commercial and residential mowing techniques, including how to operate a zero-turn mower, how to operate a self-propelled mower, how to edge and trim with a weed eater, and how to manicure and leave a property.
- Demonstrate an extensive knowledge of landscape skills, including but not limited to proper pruning techniques, spring and fall cleanup procedures, proper weeding techniques, proper planting techniques, watering plants, proper mulching techniques, mowing and weed eating.
- Operation and maintenance of various equipment and machinery
- Ability and desire to communicate and interact with customers on a daily basis
- Ability and desire to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to project a professional image appropriate to the work environment and job responsibilities.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 85 pounds
- Ability to do basic math calculations and measurements
- Ability to learn and become proficient in company software, including Clypboard, Paycom, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to speak English required; ability to speak Spanish is a plus
