Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Principal Designer, based in Seattle, WA, with the flexibility to work remotely part-time. The Principal Designer will lead the creation of compelling and innovative design solutions, driving projects from concept to execution. Responsibilities include collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, creating prototypes, and ensuring design excellence throughout the development process. The Principal Designer will also mentor junior team members and contribute to evolving Schema's methodologies and design practices.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in user experience design, interaction design, and visual design
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or related platforms
- Experience with data visualization, prototyping, and translating complex ideas into intuitive interfaces
- Skilled in creative problem-solving, storytelling, and crafting impactful user journeys
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, mentoring skills, and managing design teams or projects
- Effective communication and presentation skills to articulate design decisions and concepts clearly
- Knowledge or experience with emerging technologies and human-centered design practices is a plus
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
