Internship Overview
This seasonal internship gives college students hands-on experience in project coordination and field operations. Interns work with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and crews. Most positions are scheduled during the summer, with hourly pay based on experience and capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside crews and help with hands-on construction.
- Assist foremen and superintendents with daily field operations.
- Support layout, grade checking, measurements and daily field reports.
- Review plans and specifications and assist with quantities and project documentation.
- Track labor, equipment, materials, production and project costs.
- Support planning, purchasing, deliveries, meetings and project closeout.
- Help coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities.
- Observe and learn project sequencing, production tracking, and crew leadership
Qualifications
- Willingness to work hard, listen and learn.
- At least one year of college completed; study in civil or construction engineering, construction management, surveying or a related field.
- Strong communication, organization, math, computer and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, travel, and work extended hours when required.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
