Sampling Technician

SUMMARY: The Sampling Technician fulfills sampling needs for Winemakers, Finished Goods, and the Bulk Sales Team. They work independently and alongside various departments and personnel within Scheid Family Wines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Communicate with Sales personnel and Winemakers to determine sampling needs

· Create new and update/maintain current Sample Department SOPs

· Coordinate with FedEx, UPS, and Intercompany carriers for the timely pickup and shipment of samples to clients

· Daily management of all dry goods supplies and stock room samples inventory

· Follows all GMPs and BRC regulations and ensures work area meets Food Safety Standards

REQUIRED SKILLS

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, database usage, and shipping processes

· 1 year of previous experience in an administrative/bookkeeping role

· Superior time management, organizational, and communication skills

PREFERED SKILLS

· 2 years working in a Wine Production Environment

· Ability to determine/examine trends to improve processes

· Understanding of basic Chemistry

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. Required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch

· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
