Copywriter Intern

Overview: 

The Copywriter Intern will join our team of experienced marketing associates in creating messaging that best showcases our brand to our customers. This associate will work on a team of fellow writers and creators, sharing writing, editing, and proofing responsibilities across a variety of platforms including print, PR/events, store signage, tv, video, and radio.

Responsibilities: 

• Content Creation: Design clear and compelling copy while maintaining brand voice standards and meeting communication objectives.
• Campaign Support: Draft copy projects from concept to production for a variety of areas including, but not limited to: in-store display, print catalogs, and radio/video scripts.
• Refinement: Revise detailed copy layouts and provide execution efficiencies to ensure messaging is concise and impactful.
• Insights & Research: Procure technical product knowledge and category expertise by interviewing SCHEELS experts and researching customer personas to create copy that resonates with our customers' specific needs and tensions.
• Trend Awareness: Remain in tune with content marketing trends and share findings with fellow associates to create an atmosphere for continual collaboration.
• General Marketing Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in team and office meetings/trainings.
  • Confer with leadership to resolve problems or questions.
  • Strive to meet goals and assist others in accomplishing their goals.
  • Ability to be highly organized and maintain all detailed aspects of projects.
  • Continuous brainstorm of new processes to improve workflows.
  • Ensure the SCHEELS brand style guide and "Expert" voice is upheld across all content.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Ideal candidate would be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Journalism or a related field

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation
