Scheck Hillel Community School, a large private school in North Miami Beach, Florida, has an opening for a School EMT in our fast-paced Health Services office. Working in collaboration with our other Health Services staff, the School EMT will support the health and wellness of students in all grades from PK- 12.

Job Duties
- Provide comprehensive health services to students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and health assessments.
- Monitor and record students’ health information, including immunizations, medical histories, and physicals.
- Reviews and updates student electronic health files. Ensures vaccinations are up to date and compliant with State of Florida requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organized health office, ensuring compliance with health policies and regulations
- Act as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and educational staff to ensure proper health management
- Communicates with families and staff regarding continuous illnesses (i.e. lice, Hand/Fifth Disease)
- Liaises with students, parents and school-based staff to develop student-specific case management plans for students with chronic health problems.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments in accordance with state and school guidelines
- Respond to medical emergencies in a timely manner and provide appropriate care until emergency services arrive
- Stay current with best practices in school health and engage in professional development opportunities
- Manages all students with chronic health problems, providing school-based services related to student -specific health care plans.
- Administers medications to students prescribed by a medical doctor or authorized designee (ARNP) with parental consent in accordance with established care plans.
- Identifies high-risk students and liaises with school administrators and staff in the coordination of school- based care.
- Works closely with other appropriate school staff to provide follow-up and nursing case management related to scoliosis and lice screening outcomes.
- Monitors the school environment including the school campus for health and safety issues advising school administrators of potential risks to students in a timely manner.
- Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPPAA
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited school.
- Current Florida License as Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, or LPN.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the health services field
