Scheck Hillel Community School is seeking an inspiring and passionate High School Director of Jewish Student Life for the 2026-2027 school year. The High School Director of Jewish Student Life will enrich the Jewish experience for our high school students. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong understanding of Jewish traditions who is committed to empowering students and fostering meaningful Jewish engagement.

Scheck Hillel is a nationally recognized college preparatory and Jewish community school located in North Miami Beach, Florida. Our well-rounded, rigorous, dual curriculum program serves over 1,300 students in PKT through 12th grade.   • The High School Director of Jewish Student Life will build a strong sense of community among students. The Director will be fostering a supportive and engaged culture. Regular meetings for Jewish student groups will be organized to encourage participation and connection
  • Effective communication with the school community. The Director will keep students and their families informed about Jewish life initiatives while serving as a liaison between students and administration regarding Jewish student needs and interests
  • Supervises and runs the High School student government and senior leadership board.
  • Envisions and implements systems and ways to strengthen Jewish Student Life programming to enhance the student experience
  • Leads a Tefila once a day for a high school group
  • Fosters a strong sense of community and Ruach and promotes the School’s Core Values in the High School
  • Works with Divisional leadership to ensure the School’s Jewish Student Life programs supports and enriches the School’s core values and mission.
  • Plan and implement events that increase the Ruach and religious life of the School while promoting Zionism in accordance with the School’s Core Values of Respect, Kindness, Truth, and Peace
  • Collaboration with faculty, parents, and community organizations is essential to enhance the Jewish educational experience.
  • Planning and execution of school wide events, all Jewish and student life and student leadership activities, including community events, religious and secular holiday observance activities, Shabbatonim, and field trips for the High School (Grades 9-12).
  • Create opportunities for students to learn about Israel and Zionism
  • Events including but not limited to
    • Rosh Chodesh Assemblies, Religious and Secular Guest Speakers
    • Holiday Programming – Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah, Chanukah Programming, Tu B’Shvat Activities, Purim Observance and Activities, Pesach, Lag BaOmer, Shavuot, Yom Yerushalayim
    • Yom HaShoah, Yom HaZikaron, Yom HaAtzmaut, and October 7th ceremonies.
    • High School Color War – plan and lead High School Color War at least once a year.
    • High School Shabbatons – Organizes overnight Shabbat programs to include accommodation, food, transportation, religious activities planning and implementation.
    • Israel Trip – Working with the Israel Trip Director, incumbent will organize and lead a several days trip to Israel for the 9th grade class. This includes all transportation, security, food, lodging, location planning, and trip itinerary.
    • 12th Grade Senior Trip – Working with Senior High School leadership, incumbent will organize and lead a week long trip for the graduating seniors. This includes all transportation, security, food, lodging, location, and events planning and implementation
    • Moot Beit Din, AIPAC and YUNMUN – In coordination with each club’s faculty liaison, organizes these activities along with the ancillary needs whether local or out of state.
Requirements

  • Five years of background in Jewish education, youth work, or a related field.
  • Seminary, Yeshiva or a Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • A strong knowledge of Jewish traditions and customs, along with the ability to engage students in meaningful discussions, is essential.
  • Experience in program development, leadership, and community engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for connecting with students, parents, and faculty
  • This position is full time on campus and requires some travel, work on evenings and leading Shabbatonim.
  • Must have an unexpired passport for international school trips and be eligible to work in the United States
