Schedule: M-F, 6:50AM-3:30PM
Pay Basis: $18-$23 per hour, dependent on experience.
Summary/Objective:
Responsible for the timely planning, sourcing, PO generation, scheduling of receipt and follow through of purchased inventory items (raw materials, screw machine parts, cages, etc.) and subcontract operations. These products and services are to be secured at a cost, quality and delivery standard consistent with Schatz Bearing company and performance objectives.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Initiates purchase orders and amendments for raw material and components and/or subcontract operations.
- Close coordination with manufacturing to assure timely execution of product.
- Secures and analyzes quotations; negotiates prices and terms with suppliers; and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
- Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities and advises company activities.
- Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, negotiates prices and delivery terms.
- Coordinates as appropriate, quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
- Visits suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources and assists in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems. Visits current suppliers’ facilities to maintain relationships and push for continued improvement.
- Continuous improvement to Purchasing methods for reduction of inventory, cost and lead-times.
- Manage Quarterly Supplier Scorecards and reporting of such to Purchasing Manager.
- Provides reports to Purchasing Manager as required; supplier metrics, cost savings, lead-times, supplier meeting documentation, etc.
- Support internal customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Remains current on all Controlled Document levels.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Preferred:
- AS degree or some college/training with emphasis in business administration, economics, and/or engineering.
- Some experience in an administrative or manufacturing environment.
- Personal computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus!
