Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel, heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, trucks, and farm machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance on industrial equipment and vehicles, including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues in vehicles and heavy machinery.
- Execute welding tasks as needed for repairs or fabrication projects.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed on equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery and performing repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engine repair, brake repair, alignment, HVAC systems, and tire service.
- Must be able and willing to drive to jobsites when needed and pick up any materials/ parts as needed. Company truck provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for equipment repair tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to provide effective customer service. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude. Negative rhetoric and bringing others down on the jobsite will not be tolerated.
