What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator - NDT Inspector 2nd Shift position at Schaeffler Group and Careers?
Your Key Responsibilities
- Inspect a variety of parts and/or bearings dimensionally and/or visually to prescribed quality standards and practices.
- Be proficient in gaging and inspection operations.
- Required to perform several different operations requiring skill and judgment:
- optical comparator inspection,
- coordinate measuring machine,
- combination gaging and
- critical visual inspection routine records
- Set up and adjust gages or equipment as required.
- Review rejected work as directed.
- Conduct routine investigation into quality problems and perform other related and comparable duties.
- Become certified as a level II NDT inspector in three NDT testing methods.
- The NDT testing methods chosen are determined by the supervisor based on need.
- Be qualified to prepare, operate and maintain non-destructive equipment such as the Magnaglo and Zyglo testers, and to inspect parts tested to product requirements.
- Maintain log and routine records of all lots tested.
- Able to perform part and process audits to written QA policies.
- Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
- Training will be provided during dayshift hours (7:00AM to 3:30PM).
Your Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions write clear communication in English.
- Ability to operate complex machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Good visual acuity.
- Ability to lift medium-heavy objects if required.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
