Responsibilities
- Proactively develop new business, concentrating on end-users, such as original equipment manufacturers, steel fabricators, and government agencies;
- Strengthen existing customer knowledge and relationships to grow annual tonnage sales;
- Provide quotations, enter orders, confirm orders and provide excellent customer service;
- Organize and structure daily / weekly plans consistent with objectives, goals and sales targets;
- Diligently master Company software applications;
- Coordinate with other Company departments, including production and shipping;
- Learn about marketplace competitors (strengths and weaknesses);
- Identify and capitalized on new products and markets;
- Promptly provide feedback to others regarding time sensitive information (such as pricing, dates, comments and credit) in person and via email, phone or text;
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities according to policy; and
- Advance sales training through industry classes and workshops.
Successful candidates will be highly skilled sales professionals with:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least three years selling physical products (or equivalent sales experience);
- Professional sales training;
- A strong work ethic;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; and
- A skillset incorporating great attention to detail and accuracy.
