The Paint Supervisor oversees daily operations within the blasting and coating facility. This role leads a team of material handlers and coating personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of structural materials in alignment with production schedules and customer expectations. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating all steps of the Blasting and Coating Process from surface preparation to curing and final documentation, while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can drive results, foster a positive work culture, and implement process improvements across all stages of production.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of blasting, coating, and curing processes, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Manage personnel activities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a team-based environment rooted in communication, accountability, and professional development.
  • Develop training and cross-training programs to improve skillsets and operational flexibility.
  • Manage paint inventory. Ensure that there is enough paint to meet the production demand.

Blasting & Coating Operations

  • Oversee the full Blasting and Coating Process, including surface preparation, coating application, curing, and final quality verification.
  • Review job specifications prior to production and communicate required steps to all involved personnel.
  • Ensure the Control Room Operator and plant staff execute procedures in compliance with standards and schedules.
  • Monitor production output, work quality, and safety compliance; document results accordingly.
  • Ensure all process steps are properly documented for traceability and customer reporting.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of equipment and workspaces within the blasting and coating facility.
  • Maintain compliance with plant safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, participate in incident investigations, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the upkeep of tools, equipment, and plant infrastructure to ensure operational reliability.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, production documentation, and shift reporting.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and resolve process inefficiencies and quality issues.
  • Support implementation of lean practices and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and administrative teams to resolve operational concerns and improve plant performance.

Overall requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or coating environment.
  • Familiarity with blasting and coating operations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety and quality practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs or ladders, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, production-floor leadership capacity.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
