Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Supervisor of Chemical Dependency Counselor is responsible for the supervision, development, and implementation of the Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDC) and Behavioral Health Case Managers of behavioral services programs. This position works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide quality therapeutic and culturally acceptable direct care and skill-building educational services. Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor (CDCS) is responsible for the day-to-day performance of a group of Chemical Dependency Counselors and Behavioral Health Case Manager employees and may also be called upon to provide Chemical Dependency Counselor services within the program. The supervisor is responsible for guiding and coordinating the work of the group of employees towards established goals and objectives.
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, or related field; OR equivalent years of training and experience.
- Two (2) years of experience working as a Chemical Dependency Counselor in a therapeutic residential, addictions, and/or mental health outpatient setting; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Chemical Dependency Counselor II at SCF.
- Chemical Dependency Counselor Supervisor (CDCS) Certification.
Additional Qualifications for Chemical Dependency Counselor II: Meets all requirements of Supervisor of Chemical Dependency Counselor I in addition to the following:
- Two (2) years of demonstrated experience at the Supervisor of Chemical Dependency Counselor I level.
OR have the following:
- CDC I or II (CDCS not required)
- Master’s degree in behavioral health field including social work, counseling, psychology or mental health nursing or PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Two (2) years of experience working in a therapeutic residential, addictions, and/or mental health outpatient setting; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Chemical Dependency Counselor I level.
