Retail Sales Associate
We are looking for a personable and reliable Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers — helping them navigate our product selection, answering their questions, and guiding them toward purchases that fit their needs. A genuine interest in our products goes a long way here; the more familiar you become with what we carry, the better you'll be able to steer customers in the right direction. Strong communication skills and a welcoming attitude are a must.
Duties
- Greet customers and assist them in finding products that suit their preferences and needs
- Develop a working knowledge of our inventory in order to make informed, personalized recommendations
- Open and close the store following established procedures, including powering on systems, logging into QuickBooks POS, and counting the cash drawer
- Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash and card payments, and reconcile end-of-day sales reports
- Maintain organized, well-stocked shelves and ensure all products and testers are returned to their designated locations
- Keep the store clean and presentable — this includes vacuuming, wiping glass, dusting shelves, and disposing of trash
- Receive and process incoming shipments: unloading boxes, checking items against invoices, and flagging any discrepancies to a supervisor
- Receive and sort incoming mail and assist with outgoing mail when needed
- Reach out to a supervisor whenever questions or concerns arise — no question is too small
- Make money.
Requirements
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and cash handling procedures
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone or in person
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math principles to optimize sales performance
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and proactive approach
