Scenic Ridge Company is expanding, and we're seeking an experienced Steel Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead our fabrication team. Position Summary
The Steel Fabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily fabrication operations, coordinating production activities, leading shop personnel, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to Scenic Ridge Company's quality standards. This individual will work closely with management to implement production schedules, develop employees, and continuously improve shop performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop fabrication shop personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Create and execute weekly production schedules to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.
- Monitor workflow and allocate labor resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all fabrication and welding work meets Scenic Ridge Company's quality standards and project specifications.
- Promote and maintain a safe, accident-free work environment by enforcing safety policies and best practices.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing skill development opportunities for existing team members.
- Coordinate with management to identify production challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor employee engagement, attendance, and labor utilization to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Provide exceptional service and communication to both internal and external customers.
- Assist with fabrication and welding activities as needed to support shop operations.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of steel fabrication shop experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or foreman experience.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, welding processes, shop equipment, and production workflows.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred
- Experience managing fabrication schedules and production teams.
- Welding certifications or additional fabrication-related certifications.
