Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistantto join our team This Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Plant Operations Director with maintaining the care of the community facility for residents, employees and the public. This includes painting, general repairs, plumbing and other general building maintenance. The Maintenance Assistant must be knowledgeable in all areas of building maintenance and must be able to work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and service all facility equipment and furnishings as required
- Assist with transportation of residents including driving residents to and from appointments, assisting resident on and off the vehicle and pushing their wheelchair if needed
- Perform floorcare as needed
- Must possess the ability to operate machinery and equipment in a safe manner
- Follows and understands the Emergency Preparedness plan
- Observes residents' rights including, but not limited to, privacy, dignity, etc.
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests
- Follows safety policies, assuring resident safety
- Assist in Environmental Services Department as needed
- Be on-call as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical and carpentry skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license and excellent driving record with ability to obtain a class D Chauffers' license.
