Job Title: Service Advisor
Position Summary
The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality customer experience, accurately assessing vehicle service needs, and ensuring efficient workflow from write-up to vehicle delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally; establish rapport and trust
- Listen to customer concerns and document vehicle issues clearly on repair orders
- Recommend maintenance and repair services based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle condition
- Provide accurate estimates for cost and completion time
- Communicate with technicians to relay customer concerns and obtain repair updates
- Keep customers informed throughout the service process (approvals, delays, additional work)
- Upsell services ethically (maintenance, tires, alignments, etc.)
- Ensure all repair orders are properly opened, updated, and closed in the system
- Verify completed work and review invoices with customers at delivery
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally
- Maintain CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) targets
- Follow dealership policies, warranty procedures, and compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Service Advisor or in automotive customer service preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance practices
- Excellent communication, sales, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Valid driver’s license
