scDataCom is seeking a high-energy Commercial Account Executive.A true hunter who thrives on creating new opportunities, opening doors, and helping organizations modernize their security and network infrastructure.
You will proactively target customers in healthcare, logistics, industrial and manufacturing, K–12 and higher education, and commercial real estate, bringing them cutting-edge solutions including cloud-based video surveillance, access control, intercom systems, and structured cabling infrastructure (Verkada, Ava by Motorola Solutions, and more).

What You’ll Do New Business Development (Primary Focus)
- Aggressively identify and pursue new commercial and institutional clients through cold calling, outbound outreach, field prospecting, site visits, networking, and referrals.
- Build strong relationships with facilities directors, IT/security managers, procurement teams, and general contractors.
- Introduce scDataCom’s solutions to organizations who may not yet know they need them bringing insight, value, and new ideas.
- Stay ahead of market trends, budget cycles, and competitive activity to position scDataCom as the preferred partner.
Solution Development & Sales Execution
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to design and scope security and network technology solutions.
- Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and demonstrations that clearly communicate solution value.
- Drive adoption of our on-premise and cloud-based video and access control solutions, as well as service plans and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Move opportunities from discovery to close while maintaining accurate CRM tracking and pipeline reporting.
Account Growth & Customer Experience
- Serve as the ongoing point of contact for customers you bring in, ensuring satisfaction and long-term expansion.
- Identify opportunities to grow accounts through system enhancements, service agreements, and lifecycle upgrades.
- Ensure a seamless transition from sales to project delivery with internal teams.
What You BringExperience
- 3 years in B2B sales, new business development, or account acquisition—preferably in physical security, technology integration, low-voltage solutions, IT services, or commercial facility services.
- Demonstrated success in cold calling and outbound prospecting with a hunter mentality.
- Experience working with clients in education, healthcare, logistics, and industrial environments is strongly preferred.
Skills & Attributes
- Confident communicator who can connect with field staff, directors, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Skilled at uncovering pain points, leading discovery conversations, and positioning technical solutions.
- Highly self-motivated, persistent, and energized by winning new business.
- Proficient with CRM and modern sales tools.
- Comfortable discussing cloud platforms (Verkada, Ava) or eager to learn quickly.
Working Conditions
- Frequent regional travel across the SE U.S. for prospecting, site visits, walkthroughs, and events.
- Occasional flexible scheduling depending on customer needs or project timing.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $65,000–$85,000
- Uncapped commissions tied to:
- Sales of security, access control, surveillance, intercom, and infrastructure solutions
- Preventative maintenance agreements
- Total territory revenue and margin growth
- Significant earning potential for high performers in a rapidly expanding market.
