Qualifications
- Gateways Level 1 ECE credential completed upon first day of hire
- Prior experience in a preschool, day care, or child care setting
- Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
Minimum credentials required prior to employment as an Early Childhood Teacher:
1. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and hold an associate degree (Lead) or bachelor's degree (Master) in early childhood education (or equivalent).
2. Lead teacher candidates must also have (or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire), at least a level 3 credential (relevant to the age group for which they will be hired).
3. Minimal pre-employment requirements include: candidates must pass a complete Background Check through DCFS and possess (or provide evidence of completion of):
Gateways Level 1 ECE credential (candidates who already possess a Level 3 (or higher) Infant/Toddler or ECE credential are considered as having that this requirement)
SUIDS training, Shaken Baby Syndrome training, Mandated Reporter training

SCC is conveniently located 3 blocks away from the Oakton-Skokie station of the Yellow Line, A 10 minute ride from the Howard Street El station. Both campuses are also located directly on the #97 bus route.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
